About this directory
A small, verified directory of HVAC contractors in the Houston metro. Run by Made by Wacho, a one-person studio in Quito, Ecuador.
It exists because the big directories list everyone and sell every lead, and both owners and customers are tired of that.
How listings get here
- We collect businesses from public sources: their own websites, state license lookups, and public listing sites.
- A listing is marked Verified only when name, phone, and address match on two of those sources.
- A city page opens to search engines only once it has enough verified listings to be worth reading.
- Owners can claim a listing for free, edit it themselves, or ask us to remove it. We remove within 7 days.
How we make money
- Listings are free, and they stay free.
- We are building the list first. Later, owners will be able to pay for extras, such as a longer description.
- Paying will never change the order inside a city. Today nothing is for sale.

Questions about HVAC contractors in Texas
Does an air conditioning contractor in Texas need a license?
Yes. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) says contractors who install, repair, or maintain air conditioning, refrigeration, or heating systems must have a TDLR license. You can look a contractor up on the TDLR license search.
What can I do while I wait for an AC repair in the heat?
Ready.gov advises finding a cooling center if your home has no working air conditioning, drinking plenty of fluids, taking cool showers or baths, and wearing loose, lightweight, light-colored clothing. Watch for signs of heat illness such as confusion, a rapid pulse, or a very high body temperature.
